Deacons
In accordance with the meaning of the work and practice of the New Testament, deacons are to be servants of the church.
The deacons' function involves the following:
- to serve with the pastor and staff in performing pastoral ministries
- to proclaim the gospel to believers and unbelievers
- to care for church members and other persons in the community
- to lead the church to engage in a fellowship of worship, witness, education, ministry, and application, and
- to lead the church in performing its tasks
The body of deacons has the following responsibilities:
1. Lead in determination of the church's goals
2. Strive for visibility within the church body and community
3. Prepare and serve the Lord’s Supper to the church members and to shut-ins
4. Assist with the ordinance of baptism
5. Visitation
6. Assist in counting the tithes and offerings following each worship service.
7. Function in the pastor’s absence including leading the worship service
8. Constitutes the church benevolence committee

We, as deacons, encourage any church member to contact one of the above listed deacons with concerns or questions pertaining to New Hope Church, or any personal matter. All concerns will be kept confidential within the deacon body. We are here to serve the church, and most importantly to serve God.
