Women's Ministry

The WMU began in Richmond, VA in 1888 as the Women's Mission Societies, Auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Convention.  Since its inception, this self governing and self supporting helper to the Southern Baptist Convention has become the largest Protestant missions organization for women in the world with a membership of nearly one million. Its primary focus has not changed since its founding; that is, to educate and involve adults, youth and children in the cause of Christian missions.

The WMU sponsors three annual offerings to support missions here in the states and around the world.  These Are:

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering which benefits North American Missions and is collected during the month of March.  For more information go to www.anniearmstrong.com

The Alma Hunt Fall Offering which benefits Virginia State Missions and is collected in September/October.  For more information go to www.almahunt.org

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering which benefits International Missions and is collected in December.  For more information, go to www.imb.org

In May of each year, the WMU hosts a mother/daughter tea.  Our attendance in 2018 for this fun activity was over 50.  With the full participation of the church, the WMU is instrumental in many local missions opportunities.

Ladies' Bible Study

Train your heart to embrace the life-giving freedom God wants for you!

The Ladies will be meeting Saturday mornings at 10am  to study Lysa Terkeurst's "Finding I Am", How Jesus fully satisfies the cry of your heart.  This is a 6 session study meeting on September 8 and 22, October 6 and 20 and November 3 and 17.

Join us as we travel the streets of Israel with Lysa as we focus on the I Am statements of Jesus Christ found in the Gospel of John.  You will trade feelings of emptiness and depletion for a more personal fulfillment from knowing who Jesus is.  You will gain a better understanding of how Jesus' words 2000 years ago are so very applicable to the answers we are searching for today.

Books are available through Lifeway either on line or in store (Central Park - Fredericksburg).  You need not be a member to attend.
