Pastor - E.N. Haynes
Raised locally in Spotsylvania County, Pastor Eddie Haynes has a very diverse background. He holds degrees in Turf Grass and Landscaping from Virginia Tech, as well as an ABA degree in Business Management and a BBA in Global Marketing. His agricultural work at Virginia Tech prepared him for a stint with the NFL and PGA, managing turf grass installation at fields and courses across the country.
In addition to his role as pastor, Rev. Haynes serves as administrator of Massaponax Christian Academy, a small private school south of Fredericksburg, where he also teaches various courses. Prior to 2011, the school was affiliated with New Heights Christian Church, where Rev. Haynes served as a deacon, music leader, and senior Sunday school teacher. Earlier this year, he was ordained by New Heights, in a ceremony in which he was lauded by his long-time mentor - the late Rev. Dr. Willis Dempsey.
Pastor Haynes enjoys performing as a founding member of SONRISE - an acclaimed gospel bluegrass band, and tours with the band occasionally. He is also semi-fluent in Spanish.
In spite of his many roles and accomplishments, the pastor is quick to acknowledge that it has all been made possible by God's grace and the work of the Holy Spirit. When pastor Haynes is not leading the revival of his church or tending to the needs of his flock, he enjoys watching football or experiencing the beauty of God's creation with his family.
He has been married 12 years to his lovely and talented wife Tracey, a graduate of and former standout swimmer at Mary Washington University. Mrs. Haynes shares her husband's passion for the education and salvation of young people, teaching at Massaponax Christian Academy. She sings in the choir, leads the children's choir, and often graces the church with touching solo performances. Pastor and Mrs. Haynes reside in the church parsonage with their young sons, John Tyler and Caden.
